Dripping Springs 4 H Horse Project is hosting a Horse Judging Clinic with Terri Antilley of Texas A&M University on March 7, 2009 from 1-4 PM at the Polo Club Stables on Highway 290. There is no cost to attend. Because of the limited space we will need to limit the number of horses attending, but there is no limit on those wishing to attend and learn more about Horse Judging. Terri will cover Halter, Showmanship and Western Pleasure classes. Please contact Donna Moore, 512-7868342, or Lynne Dickinson, 512-560-3819 for more information.
Terri is the voice of many of the online judging videos from Texas A&M. I would consider this a terrific (free, close, and in the afternoon) opportunity to learn more about horse judging.
This event will take place during a school day. Registrants are required to fill out an academic elgibility form and have it signed by their school and then faxed the Ag office. I do anticipate this taking most of the day, based on this past weekend’s event.
I am trying to put the horse judging manual from TAMU on the website for those interested to download.

Kaitlyn Petras represented Horses Rock at the Johnson County Horse Judging Contest requiring that each participant judge 9 classes including reining and roping. Kaitlin placed 10th in the halter class! Great job, especially for her first time judging. CONGRATULATIONS KAITLIN!! For more information on how you can get involved in Horse Judging, click on Horse Judging on the Horses Rock Web site. www.horsesrock.org
San Antonio horse judging contest is Thursday Feb. 12 th.
Each team member has to create a profile on the 4-H connect and register for the event
http://grovesite.com/page.asp?o=tamu&s=Travis&p=163731
this is the website to both create a profile and register for the SA show I think this has to be done this week
in order to participate. The academic form exemption has to be turned in by the 4th.
If you are interested please do the profile ASAP as I am not sure what the exact deadline is.
It is $5 to register for the event online and it appears there will be another fee of $40 per team (3 -4 persons).
